Free recruitment support for NAFD members

The National Association of Funeral Directors is always looking to help its members develop their businesses and we appreciate that taking on extra staff can be a difficult task.  We are therefore delighted to launch a new online recruitment service, which is designed to help members reach a wider target audience and generate greater interest in the employment opportunities they are offering by advertising vacancies free of charge on the NAFD website.

The recruitment module is the latest business tool to be incorporated within the NAFD website – which is now well-established as the portal for the funeral sector – and is yet another important benefit of membership.

Since vacancies can be accessed via the Funeral Profession section of the website, anyone working in the sector will be able to browse the opportunities available.  However, only NAFD members will be able to use this resource to advertise job vacancies and so boost their chances of finding the right person for the job.

How to view vacancies

Visit www.nafd.org.uk and click on Funeral Profession.  Click on Professional Services on the left hand side and then click Recruitment.

To find a vacancy either click the Browse All Vacancies link, which shows all the positions listed, or fill in the Vacancies Search Form.  Start by typing in a Keyword, such as Stonemasons, or go to Category and select from the menu.

Then select Full-time position or Part-time position or Any Select Permanent position or Temporary position or Any Then click Search.

You will now be directed to the Vacancies Search Results page, which sorts the jobs that match your search criteria and lists them by title, the date they were posted or their unique reference number.

Click on the title of the job to go to the Vacancy Details page, where you will see information about the vacancy and the advertiser’s contact details.

You can now choose Print These Details to print the information so that you can review it another time.

Or, to register your interest in the position, click Apply For This Vacancy.  Now you will be directed to the Apply For Vacancy page, where you will need to fill in the Vacancy Enquiry Form.

You can upload your CV by selecting Browse… and inserting a Word or pdf document (from the file in which it is stored on your PC).  Alternatively, or in addition to this, you can type a letter or fill in details of your qualifications and experience in the Notes box.

Then just confirm your eligibility to live and work in the UK and click Submit Application.  Your application will be sent to the company that advertised the vacancy and you will see a confirmation message to that effect. You can revisit the job details by clicking Return.

If, having read the description, you decide not to apply for that position, click Back to Vacancy List to return to the list of jobs generated by your search (Vacancies Search Results page) and view the other vacancies.

Click New Search to search the vacancies again using different criteria.
