Debt Recovery
In a bid to combat the growing problem of bad debts and to ensure members are fully paid in a timely fashion when payment issues arise, the National Association of Funeral Directors set up the NAFD Fast Track Debt Recovery Service.
The service utilises the expertise of the Debt Recovery Bureau LLP, which is the first point of contact and provides a bespoke solution that takes into consideration the specific circumstances of each individual case.
Debt counselling and refinancing services are also part of the service – provided by Gemstone Financial Management – while one of The Debt Recovery Bureau's legal partner firms can be utilised to seek to recover monies owed if necessary via the Courts.
To support this the Association has produced a set of terms and conditions, which establish where both the funeral director and the client stand. Written in plain English, the terms enable members to claim back the costs of debt collection if there is any default, effectively making the NAFD Fast Track Debt Recovery Service a free service.
