Chair and lay member sought for NAFD Disciplinary Committee
The vast majority of the funerals undertaken by NAFD member firms every year are completed to the satisfaction of the family concerned. On rare occasions, however, situations can arise where a client may feel unhappy regarding an aspect of the service provided. The NAFD takes any complaint against a member firm seriously and always investigates.
The Association’s Disciplinary Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis to discuss any complaints or other matters that the Committee for Professional Standards feels could be serious enough to warrant disciplinary action. The role of the Disciplinary Committee is to adjudicate on these matters in accordance with the Association’s Code of Practice and membership requirements.
The NAFD is recruiting for a Chair and Lay Member for the committee. We are seeking individuals from outside the profession with experience in professional regulation, tribunals, arbitrations, expert witness work or similar roles – and who have a demonstrable commitment to acting in the public interest.
Please see the recruitment page for further information and role specifications.
