NAFD webinar highlights key questions

Over the summer, the NAFD brought together members from across Wales with the National Medical Examiner for Wales, Dr Jason Shannon, National Medical Examiner Officers Daisy Shale and Melanie Moore for a webinar, which included an update on the rollout of the medical examiner scheme in Wales and a question and answer session on key issues arising, as well as guidance as to how funeral firms can best support bereaved families in engaging with the medical examiner service.

It was a highly informative session with the medical examiner team providing a detailed briefing on how the system works, what it is (and isn’t designed to do) and what funeral directors need to know. The session was videoed with links sent to all members in Wales, If you have not received the email, please check your junk folder and if it has gone completely astray, drop me a line to [email protected] and I will send you a link. It is well worth a watch.

The NAFD’s revolutionary new learning platform – the NAFD Learning Hub – sits at the centre of the NAFD’s bold two-year plan for the introduction of mandatory Continuous Professional Development (CPD) within the NAFD, in line with the likely next steps that the Government will take. There is still time to secure a place in the NAFD Learning Hub pilot to help us shape this resource.
