Don’t miss out! Pilot of the NAFD’s new online CPD platform – the NAFD Learning Hub – remains open until 31 December 2022.

There are more than 50 courses in the trial version to explore but the NAFD Learning Hub Continuous Professional Development (CPD) platform has the potential to be used for the delivery of unlimited learning and education topics, with the specific choice for each business tailored to the individual needs of their employees. Online learning hubs can also offer a platform for educational podcasts, webinars and blogs to support learning too, to help members demonstrate a commitment to delivering the highest standards of care in the funeral sector, providing a real differentiator between them and other funeral firms.

Some of the courses for the pilot are being specifically adapted to UK funeral service, regulations and experience, others are of a more general nature (such as those on developing general business and leadership skills) and these will be tailored to funeral service for the full version, to make sure they align with modules in NAFD Education programmes.

Subject to the outcome of the trial, the NAFD Learning Hub also has the potential to use virtual reality and 3D models to create highly engaging visual learning scenarios for funeral professionals, supported by online assessment, remote invigilation and gap training – and, in a full version, all content would be tailored to UK funeral service, regulation, operational practice and customs.

Feedback from users will enable the NAFD to assess, through member feedback, if it will provide the right platform for CPD for the membership. Members can hear more about the trial and the importance of Continuous Professional Development at the NAFD Autumn General Meeting in November.

The pilot is open to NAFD funeral directing firms for a nominal fee and it is still possible to get involved. You can purchase bundles of five licences (one licence per staff member) and the cost for a bundle of five licences is just £250.
